- Special assignment: Answer the following questions and submit by Monday.
- Chapter 7 Conceptual Exercises: 16, 22, 30, 44; Problems: 4, 8, 12, 14.
- Explain why leaving the door to a refrigerator open will not cool down a room.
- Submit your three topic ideas for the physics Web Project.
- Answer the recommended conceptual exercises and problems for
Chapter 8, and check your understanding by
looking at the answers in the back of the textbook.

- Lunar
eclipse - If you observed the lunar eclipse on Wednesday night,
describe the experience and explain what insights you learned.
- Spy
satellite - Late Wednesday, The U.S. Navy used a missile launched
from a ship in the Pacific Ocean to shoot down a defective spy
satellite that posed a safety threat. Use your scientific
reasoning skills to critique this mission intended to protect
human life. Find at least three instances of "bad physics" or
misleading information that was conveyed in these or other media
reports: NPR, IHT, Aljazeera
