Department Administration
The Department of Physics & Astronomy is managed by a team of faculty and staff. The Department Chair is Laurie McNeil (mcneil@physics.unc.edu) and the Department Manager is Donna Braxton (dbraxton@physics.unc.edu). There are three assistant chairs: Jon Engel (engelj@physics.unc.edu) for Undergraduate Affairs and Studies, Charles Evans (evans@physics.unc.edu) for Graduate Affairs and Studies, and Art Champagne (artc@physics.unc.edu) for Personnel. Please consult other parts of this website for details of the undergraduate and graduate programs.
The faculty are organized into a variety of committees charged with overseeing everything from curriculum revisions to undergraduate and graduate affairs to computing. The current list of faculty committees and their memberships can be found here.
