From RTP/Raleigh:
- Take I-40 West to exit 273A (Hwy 54 west).
- Follow 54 West into Chapel Hill. Highway 54 becomes Raleigh Road (54 Business) at the overpass. Continue under the overpass and up the hill to Country Club Road. Turn right.
- Follow Country Club through light onto Cameron Avenue.
- The Swain visitor parking lot is on the right after the Old Well; across from Phillips Hall (left dark blue area on the map). Due to construction, visitor parking is available here only after 5pm and on weekends.
Alternate location: Morehead Planetarium gated lot
- Pass Swain visitor lot. Continue on Cameron. Turn right onto South Columbia Street.
- Turn right onto East Franklin Street at 2nd light.
- Morehead Planetarium visitor lot is 1/4 mile, on right. (upper-right dark blue on the map).
From Durham:
- Take 15-501 to Franklin Street.
- Follow Franklin Street to Columbia Street. Turn left.
- At second light turn left onto Cameron Avenue.
- The Swain visitor parking lot is the first left; across from Phillips Hall (in dark blue on the map). Due to construction, visitor parking is available here only after 5pm and on weekends.
Alternate location: Morehead Planetarium gated lot
- When on Franklin Street, look for Morehead Planetarium on the left 1/8 mile past Raleigh Street/Hillsborough Road intersection.

Phillips Hall is situated on Cameron Avenue between Peabody Hall and Memorial Hall, on North Campus.
