The story: Jalene and I went into the hospital at 4:30 on a sunday. The first part of labor was very mellow. We hung around the room watching golf. In order to get things moving, Jalene hopped in the hot tub. Boy did this accellerate things. After a 30 minute soak, she was in the full throughs of labor. This was a very intense experience, but around 7:15, the epidural was administered. Jay was then on cloud 9. With a relative lull in the action at 8:00 pm, Brian paused to watch the Simpsons. Jalene managed to sleep.

Maggie was born at 10:57 pm, Sunday February 22nd. This was her due date. Here's a really excellent picture of Jalene and Maggie taken moments after delivery. Although it looks like she's crying, Maggie hardly made a sound until she was taken to the scale. Her official birth weight was 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and her length was 21 inches.

The next day, both mommy and daddy got to spend some time with Maggie.
