On December 7, 2000, the students presented their original compositions
for original instruments. Here are some pictures from that performance.
The
Ghetto Fabulous Concerto was played (left to right) by Wilson Fuller
on "Elsie" panpipes, Jamie Darst (the composer) on Darstimer, David Spencer
on PVC Didjeridu, and Luke Selden on the Dole-bro.

Mikey Truzey on the Harmonic Minor Bottles.

The Collegiate
Sweet was performed by Michael Johnson on Bum Notes, Megan Ketch on
Instrument of Noise, Mela Kirkpatrick on Shepherd's Flute, and Toby Butts
on Club in F. The suite was a joint composition of the first three
players.
Daniel Thigpen's
Matt Doherty and Birdman Could Use Some Bubble-Yum received a spirited
rendition from Luke Selden on Dole-bro, Jonathan Thompson on Dave Clark
Weekend Killer, Daniel on Chewbacca's Consonant Chromatar, and Annie Poskozim
on Uniball Penpipes.
Mikey Truzy's The Dance was performed by two bottle-panpipes: Mikey on Harmonic Minor Bottles and David Harris on First Place at Lenoir.
Early Morning
Wake-up by Toby Butts was performed by Luke Selden on Dole-bro, Toby
on Club in F, and David Spencer on PVC Didjeridu. The audience had
no doubt about the origin of the title.
Christy Nell performed her version of Rudolph (the Red-Nosed Reindeer) on her plaster cornetto ("Ralph"), with David Spencer on PVC panpipes.
Alex Danilowicz
(on Frito-Layman's Bass) collaborated with Trevor Hutton (hidden behind
music stand, playing the lap harp "42") to compose and perform Plesiosaur:
Land, Storm, Sea. The piece contained a rendition of a snoring
dinosaur.
Not shown are David Harris (on First Place at Lenoir) and Jonathan Thompson
(on Dave Clark Weekend Killer) playing David's piece I Have Less Money,
which expresses the anxieties of college life.
