Supersymmetric Gödel Universes in String
Theory
In this talk I review recent work in hep-th/0301206
on supersymmetric Gödel Universes in string and M-theory.
Existence of supersymmetric Gödel Universe backgrounds in string
and M-theory can perhaps provide important new understanding of
holography, string and M-theory and quantum gravity. In the talk it is
explained how to obtain Gödel Universe background via T-duality and
S-duality, and several examples of new Gödel Universes are given. The
string theory on a Gödel Universe background is considered and the string
spectrum is given.
